Bachelor of Arts (hons.) in Business English
English is spoken by over 780 million people around the world and is the main language for the international business community. The aim of the Business English Program at IBAIS University is to teach English using modern techniques in a stimulating atmosphere. More specifically, the Business English Program enables students to gain optimum proficiency in the English language skills and research skills necessary to embark on a professional career using English. The classes are intensive, comprehensive and practical applying English in everyday situations and business settings. Emphasis is placed on attaining a level of competency in reading, writing, grammar, listening, pronunciation, and research skills, in different business cultures.
Career Opportunities:
The program opens a variety of career opportunities for graduates in the fields of business, media/communication, finance, international trade, government, and education. They can develop interesting future careers as broadcasters, advertising executives, writers, and translators, among others.
2+2 Degree Program:
There is a high demand for Business English both in the Private and Public sector in our country. Concerning this demand, IBAIS University has made collaboration with Bangkok University who has a rich academic standard for this kind of Professional Education. Under this collaboration students will study 1st & 2nd year in IBAIS University. After completing 1st and 2nd year (62 credit hour courses) in IBAIS University, students will be awarded an Associate Degree in Business English. And after completing 3rd & 4th year (Rest 62 credit hour courses) in Bangkok University, students can finally get the Bachelor Degree from Bangkok University. Or else, students who will not transfer credits to Bangkok University can finally get the Bachelor Degree from IBAIS University. In order to maintain International standard, we directly follow the curriculum of Bangkok University as well as it is also designed to fulfill the demand and necessity of our National interest.
Admission Requirements:
Every applicant, without any exception, must fulfill the admission requirements as laid down by IBAIS University. Admission test and interview for admission into the first trimester will be held three times a year. No interim or supplementary admission test or interview will be arranged.
A higher secondary certificates or its equivalent in Science, Arts, Commerce or other fields of study is the basic educational requirement. Minimum five subjects in O-level and two subjects in A-level education are required. Minimum qualifying GPA to be eligible to apply is 2.5 individually in SSC/ ‘O’ level and HSC/ ‘A’ level examinations.
For all foreign certificates, the University as per rules of Bangladesh Government will determine equivalence.

Duration:
A student under normal work load will have 12 credit hours per trimester for undergraduate programs. Four years will be required to complete the Bachelor degree.

Dissertation (6 credits)
All BBE candidates should complete supervised study and research culminating in a dissertation in their fields of specialization. The completed dissertation should be well-bound and printed in accordance with the regulations of IBAIS University.
